The Korean life sciences company signed a $100m asset purchase agreement with Shuye. 

SK Chemicals is expanding its business with chemically recycled BHET (r-BHET) of 70,000 metric tonnes (mt) and chemically recycled PET (CR-PET) of 50,000mt production systems. 

The company signed an asset transfer agreement related to the chemically r-BHET and CR-PET PET business division of Chinese firm Shuye.

Specialist in technology for food packaging Duravant announce the news of a new company opening in Brazil to extend its global reach.  

On 10 April global automation equipment solutions provider Duravant announced it had expanded its global footprint through the formation of subsidiary company Duravant Brazil LTDA in Brazil and acquired a majority stake in manufacturer of processing machinery parts and components, BSVP.

Packaging and container manufacturer Hub Plastics has acquired plastic bottles manufacturer Midwest Container and Industrial Supply. Based in the US, Midwest Container specialises in manufacturing plastic bottles in high-and-low-density polyethylene, clarified polypropylene, and PET, among others. The acquisition will add complementary product offerings into Hub Plastics’ portfolio.

Italian packaging specialist Carton Pack has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Italian packaging company Smilesys. Smilesys works in the field of automatic resealable packaging and adhesive labels for food packaging. It was founded in 2013 by CEO Ernesto Zanarella.
