COMPANY INSIGHT

Scandolara stands for collapsible tubes.

Founded in 1919, our company is a pioneer beyond the producers of primary packaging. Located in north Italy, close to the major pace setters of the pharmaceutical industry, colour and care cosmetics and food products, and production sites in the centre of the country, we give Your ointments, creams and concentrates shelter – and a smart dress, too! No matter if You prefer aluminium or PE tubes – we can satisfy both requests and put a lot of fancy components as closures on top.

Our challenge is to deliver both a product and a service: Before manufacturing, we evaluate technical issues and aesthetic features. Tubes shall, at the same time, contain the customer’s product and market the content. The constant tension between functionality and appeal thus is the main demand of our customers.

Food trays and baking molds made from Genuine Vegetable parchment are biodegradable and home compostable.

During our consultancy approach, this requires first of all expertise in stability matters for defining the compatibility between container and content. It answers the question “What is the idoneous  container for the product?” for maximising the positive result of following stability tests in laboratory during packaging development. It is about material composition and master matching in harmony with the product, it is about figures and percentages of all components involved. This is the technical aspect of our support.

On the other hand, it requires a sense of aesthetics and a constant eye on trends to ensure the competitiveness that our customers need to successfully market their products. This task includes a tight cooperation with customers’ R&D and marketing team for giving an appealing look to the container, considering however the technical feasibilities of an industrial packaging product.

Last but not least, the environmental aspect is getting even more important. Primary packaging has to be impactful to the consumer, but should be as gentle as possible to our ecosystem. Studies on innovative materials, new cycles for re-use of material and the consumption of less virgin material is at the centre of the attention. Packaging producers are transformers of prima materials and service providers, but we share the common responsibility with any other player on our globe for leaving a sane environment for the generations to follow.

A rather complex construction behind a product that never appears as a brand, but offers several essential functions: preservation, marketing and delivery.

This is the world of collapsible tubes, this is the world of Scandolara.
