Sustainable packaging solution provider International Paper has secured shareholders’ approval for its proposed acquisition of DS Smith, marking a significant step towards completing the deal.   

Financial terms of the deal are not disclosed but the offer is reportedly valued DS Smith at $7.22bn. 

James Jones & Sons, a family owned and managed forest products company, has announced the expansion of its Pallets & Packaging Division through the acquisition of HG Timber.   

Based in Buckingham, UK, HG Timber supplies range of standard and bespoke pallets and timber products to packaging, food, pharmaceutical and manufacturing companies in the UK and Europe.  

Polymer processor TeraPlast Group is expanding its geographical footprint with the acquisition of a 70% stake in Croatian flexible packaging manufacturer Optiplast.  

Optiplast, founded in 1989, specialises in manufacturing waste bags, shopping bags, and other packaging films and products.  

SupplyOne, a North American custom corrugated and value-added packaging solutions distributor, has announced the acquisition of custom corrugated boxes and displays supplier Gulf Packaging.   

The acquisition marks the 42^nd addition to the SupplyOne portfolio since its inception 25 years ago.
