Ahlstrom suspends divestment of French Bousbecque plant

Ahlstrom, a sustainable speciality materials company, has decided to move ahead with the closure of its plant in Bousbecque, France.   

The decision comes after an unsuccessful attempt to divest the facility, which employs 117 people and has an annual capacity of approximately 12,000 tons. 

Silgan to acquire Weener Plastics for €838m

Silgan Holdings, a supplier of sustainable rigid packaging solutions, has agreed to acquire Weener Plastics, a producer of dispensing solutions, for €838m ($908m).

Weener operates a global network of 19 facilities, predominantly in Europe and the Americas, and employs approximately 4,000 people.

Saica secures deal for Schumacher's Polish subsidiary

Saica Group, a leading European packaging company, has signed an agreement to acquire the Polish subsidiary of Schumacher Packaging, a major player in customised corrugated and solid board packaging. 

The deal, subject to regulatory approval, strengthens Saica’s presence in Eastern Europe and adds significant production capacity. 

Pactiv Evergreen divests two plants to Suzano for $110M

Food packaging manufacturer Pactiv Evergreen has entered into a definitive agreement to divest its Pine Bluff, Arkansas, paper mill and Waynesville, North Carolina (both US-based), extrusion facility to Suzano for $110m in cash.   

The deal value is subject to customary adjustments for closing amounts, including working capital.
