Mondi cancels Syktyvkar facility sale in Russia  

Mondi has confirmed its withdrawal from an agreement to sell the Syktyvkar pulp and paper mill and its two affiliated entities in Russia to Augment Investments. 

Mondi cites “lack of progress” from Augment’s side in achieving the required approval for closing the sale and purchase deal. Mondi’s board will continue to consider other alternatives to divest the Syktyvkar facility.

Imperial Dade acquires Atlantis Packaging 

This transaction signifies Imperial Dade’s 67th acquisition, led by Chairman Robert Tillis and CEO Jason Tillis. By joining forces with Imperial Dade, Atlantis says, its customers throughout North America can expect an enhanced range of products and solutions while still receiving the same level of customised service they have come to rely on.

Arla and Blue Ocean Closures partner to create fibre-based caps  

Denmark-based dairy company Arla Foods has entered into a formal partnership with sustainable startup Blue Ocean Closures to create fibre-based caps for Arla’s milk cartons. As part of this joint effort, Blue Ocean Closures will utilise funding from Arla to first develop a fully functional prototype of the fibre-based caps, followed by the testing phase.

ALPLA invests in third extrusion line at Radomsko plant 

Plastic packaging manufacturer ALPLA has announced the expansion of its recycling plant in Radomsko, Poland, with an approximately €8m ($8.7m) investment. The company will install a new advanced extrusion line at the site. The new line is the third at the site and will make the Radomsko facility one of the largest recycling plants of its kind in Europe.
