Fedrigoni takes stake in Papkot’s packaging tech
The Fedrigoni Group, an Italy-based speciality paper manufacturing for packaging, has acquired a minority stake in Papkot, a startup known for developing the first large-scale paper coating technology that mimics the properties of plastic. This acquisition is part of Fedrigoni’s corporate venture capital programme aimed at identifying and scaling industry-changing startups.
Shareholders back Amcor-Berry Global merger
Global packaging solutions company Amcor and plastic packaging producer Berry Global’s shareholders have given their approval for the merger of the two companies, originally announced in November 2024. More than 71% of Amcor’s outstanding shares were present or represented by proxy at the vote, with more than 99% voting in favour of the proposal. Similarly, Berry Global saw more than 83% of its shares represented, with over 98% voting in support.
Shenso secures nine deals at PrintPack 2025
Shenso, a division of Sodhisons and Daya, has reported the successful negotiation of nine deals for its advanced packaging machinery at the PrintPack 2025 event. The company secured orders for its fully automatic square-bottom paper bag-making machine and double-track V-bottom paper bag machine.
Blackstone to divest EPL stake in $220m deal
Blackstone has agreed to sell a 24.9% stake in EPL, an Indian speciality packaging manufacturer, to Indorama Netherlands, for approximately Rs19.07bn ($220m). This move comes as part of the global asset manager’s strategy to offload its shares in the company. The transaction will see Indorama Netherlands, a subsidiary of Thailand-based Indorama Ventures (IVL), purchasing the stake at Rs240 per share.
